Ball Pythons
The History, Natural History, Care, and Breeding

by David G. Barker and Tracy M. Barker

My wife is REALLY into Ball Pythons, and WASN'T....I bought that Book the Barkers Book from Ryan Young at Inland Reptiles, and I know it changed me, I used to rip on people who where into Ball Pythons...But I actually after reading that book, and have been helping my wife with her collection, I have started to really like them, and look forward to adding more...We have MANY Ball Python books in our library, but I agree 100% that so far the Barkers Ball Python book...is the best...I just refuse to call it Pythons of the World Volume 2.....That one is hopefully still being made....lol, but its THE best Ball Book to date..and as far as packed with info on them...well I don't think that is going to be beaten...a for sure book to have if your into ball pythons..I think

The Barkers Pythons of the World Volume 2 Ball Pythons is an awesome book but The Complete Ball Python Book By Kevin McCurley is also an awesome book, IMO. Plus The Reproductive Husbandry Of Pythons & Boas By Richard A. Ross and Gerald Marzec is an out of this world book.lol
I have all three and they are awesome books to have and learn from them.

Good luck.

Don't call it "Pythons of the World VOL.II" Volume two was supposed to be about Pythons of Indonesia...following the book about Pythons of Australia....call it the "Barker Ball Book"..lol just kiddin..

I have anticipated "Volume II" (Indonesia) of Pythons the World since the first edition came out....But the Ball book is a VERY good book...and I am not MAJORLY into balls.....yet

Barker Ball Book as in VPI, or Dave and Tracy Barker owners of VPI.

All of them are probably going to give you the same basic info, so picking one over the other is mear preference only, Some people will like the NERD Version, and some people will like the VPI version...

I suggest getting both, I am....I have a bunch of books on Boas and Pythons, Many of them say the same thing, but thats cool with me...I like having a library of books....And the things with Ball Pythons...are the Morphs, and new combonations are being created every year, so the newer the book, the better chance of it having more up to date information on Ball Python Morphs...But basic Care and information, they all will probably be the same or very close...its the information about new morphs that keeps changing...

they are both very expensive, but there is a 40$ difference, if you had to pick a over all one, for the breeding and morph combos etc which would you choose?
