colours of veilds

Hi

I have had my veiled for about 4 months and he is still just plain old GREEN - when do they start getting the wonderful markings that I have seen on this forum ?

or do some just stay plain green ?

Hi, Stephen. My 7 month old veiled didn't start showing all his gorgeous colors until the last month. Try taking a small hand-held mirror and let him see himself. Don't do this too often because it does stress them.

I do believe the females don't have very many colors. The males have more of a color pattern. Go to the photo gallary and look for dumbkid's picture of Hank (don't know her new name!). He thought he had a male and he really has a female. Or maybe dumbkid could post it again......hint hint!!
Otherwise, some males aren't as colorful as others. Something to do with genes or something. But every chameleon is different.
