I've seen three latin names for bullsnakes:
P. cantenifir sayi
P. m. sayi
I've seen both used by various websites.
does anyone know what the "correct" name is for them?
Thanks

Currently, P. c. sayi is the correct one. It has been P. m. sayi, P. sayi, and others in the past. All branches of science, including taxonomy, is a changing field.....lol.

Is that the current taxonomy? My book put pines and gophers as one snake, but their ranges dont cross, so they should develop into different species through the course of evolution. I thought that they should be noted as two different species.
That break-down is based on the newest published data available at this time that has stood up to qualified peer review.
