Help! My snake smells like crap

phillyboyintn Aug 14, 2007 10:16 AM

His crap to be exact. I had him in a pillowcase to goto the vet and coming home he "did his business". Now he smells pretty bad. What would you recommend to clean him. I was gonna wipe him down with a baby wipe but wanted to check first in case it would harm him. Thanks in advance!

Clean him in some warm water. Like a baby

but water alone won't get out that horrible smell...

Actually, plain water should be sufficient. But if you want to do a more thorough bathing, you can use Ivory soap. Just keep it off his/her face. This is what is done whenever removing a female from her eggs, so it will be fine. Be sure it is Ivory, it is pure soap, no added moisturizers and other garbage they put in soap for HUMAN use!

You can bathe him in warm water using a little bit of regular dish soap. I would not use water warmer than 98 degrees. Then gently rinse with similar-temperature water, and dry; he should smell like new in no time
