It's a picture of part of Mammoth Hot Springs. You can barely tell, but there is actually water running down the surface of that calcified rock. It was really awesome in person (some sections formed what look like steps) and that is only one tiny section of it.

Wonderfull pics, loved the buffalo and the calcified formation especially.

And of course thanks for the consideration for all us guys with the last pic

Sean.

Thanks Sean! There were a TON of buffalo/bison. We kept getting into "bison jams" because the herds would walk across the road in front of cars and next to cars. The picture I took was of one walking right beside our car. It was pretty cool!

A.L.,
...Great PICs. Last time I was in Yellowstone and Jackson was in 1986. I was actually born in Montana. Please don't go telling that around. Folks around here are sure I am a genuine southern boy.

Awe, a Montana boy huh? Don't worry, your secret is safe with me!

The Jackson area was absolutely gorgeous! Would have liked to have spent some more time there.

I love Yellowstone. I've been three times in my life and it never gets old. The scenery and wildlife are amazing. It's always a shame to have to come back to reality and responsibility

Tim - I am already hoping to be able to plan another trip out there sometime in the next few years. We were only there for a few days and you just cannot see everything in that short of a time.

The times I've gone it has always been for 7 days at a time. A week is a good amount of time to see things but you never seem to have enough time to see everything. It's a shame that there never seems to be enough time for everything you want to do in life.
