Full wrap...

I find it interesting that Pablo (my male CRB) and my ball pythons only wrap their prey a little bit, but every time I feed Mercedes, she wraps the rat with every inch of her body. It isn't a large one, it's a weaned rat, I think she just goes for the overkill. LOL! She LOVES her food, which makes me very happy considering that I'm dying to breed this pair.

Jen,
...Great PIC. When I feed small live rats to my CRBs they both constrict them like they are really serious about it. CRBs are just amazingly strong snakes. Much stronger than BRBs. It seems a little odd to me because they do not have the head size and ability to extend their head and mouth around a big meal like a BRB does. It seems that the BRB that has the larger head and ability to eat a larger meal should be the one that has the magnum constricting power to kill larger prey animals.

I know what you mean, I actually hear the impact when they hit their prey. I feed Pablo prekilled just because he's not always that great at constricting, but he still hits it hard and fast. Mercedes chases her prey down the minute I drop it in -- she zooms from across the tub and is on it within seconds. They're both fantastic eaters, they never turn anything down. I have to get an updated weight on my girl and see where she's at.

haha yeah that's pretty good. My corn snake actually does the same things and then holds on for a couple minutes, even though i pre kill the mice for him. One time He actually squeezed so hard he popped a blood vessel in the mouses eye and blood got every where. You just got to love over zealous eaters
