Mercury Vapor UVB/Heat lamp 4 baby iggy

daveski Aug 14, 2007 09:40 PM

So I finally ordered a UVB light for the little guy. It is a T-Rex Active UV Heat Mercury Vapor Bulb. I did some research online about it before i made the purchase and found a lot of positive info on it. I am pretty stoked about it being a two-in one. I read that the mercury vapor variants are actually better that just a stand alone UV tube as far as UVB and UVA output goes. Anyways does anyone have any experience with these? positive or negative. let me know. thanks

It's all I used when I wasn't able to get them outside. The bulbs are great but don't seem to last very long I've never had one last more then a year. Putting the light on a timer and make sure you don't touch the bulb with your hands when screwing it in, use a shirt or something similar. that might help with the life of the bulb.
