>>This can vary so much from snake to snake that I doubt anybody has made a chart like this. Sometimes yearling snakes will take an adult mouse while others still prefer fuzzys ...

>>If you want to keep the growth rate moving along focus more on the weight of the meal (multiple food items) instead of the size of the food item offered.

>>Also if you are thinking of stocking up on mice its probably not recommended to keep mice in the freezer for a year. I think 6 months or less is the max? I usually restock every 2 months or so.
Most online sites and the one I use go by weight and age. I now keep precise charts on feedings of my snakes, I weigh each meal and note it in the snakes chart, sometimes it takes two meals to get the precise food weight I am looking for. Like I said above not all snakes are the same but in general a snake that is 6 months old will be taking a prey item of a certain weight, granted gender can matter but this isn’t rocket science.
The site that I use states the prey items will be fine for a year in the freezer plus I have back up freezer bags if any break and I remove as much air as I can before resealing after opening the bag. I might work with every 6 months, a year is a long time but has any research been done that states a rodent that has been frozen a year is any worse for your snake then one that has been frozen for 2 months?
