My Beadie.... Health question

poly15 Aug 15, 2007 01:14 PM

Hi everyone, I have a bearded dragon that is a little over a year old named mongo. His cage is setup so the basking spot is about a foot and a half off the ground and he usually sits in his basking spot most of the day. The last couple of days he has been sitting in the shade in his cage and not going into the basking spot at all. I picked him up once or twice and put him in his spot but he just goes back down into the shade. He is eating and drinking but he is not active at all. He has moved about 2 feet in the last couple of days. Is this something I should be worried about? He is not currently shedding and actually just finished shedding about a week ago. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Tom.

Tell me length, weight if possible.

Recheck temp. specs. and list. Day/Night cycle.

Where do you live?

Have you ever had a fecal done?

I have a male in brumation starting today not by my choosing. This is a weird year. Others are in the same situation. You need to check all the other possibilities regarding environment and illness before accepting brumation as a possibility.

I would highly recommend you get a fecal done now.
