Not mexicana, but still cute.....

Hey everyone! I don't have any baby Thayeri to share this year, so here are some pictures of a California Kingsnake clutch that hatched recently. They are all 100% het for albino, and hatched 12 for 12.

These little guys have been fun... but I still can't wait for this view to be a box full of Thayeri!

Of the good old days when I first got into breeding. Cal kings were my first breeders. When I 1st moved to AZ in 1993 I spent hours upon hours looking for pyro's and cal kings. I finally found a female Cal king and hooked it up with a friends male. Those were great days and you could get $80-$100 for a plain old cal king. I had cal kings up until 2005 but decided that my buddy Kerby had the market pretty much cornered. Its funny how I was so excited about cal kings and Kerby seemed to care less about them (he was into rosy boas among other things) and now he's the king of cal kings and I'm done with them.

BTW those are great looking little cal kings Aubry. They're fun to work with and great feeders. Heres some I hatched out in 2005

Wow! Are those all from the same clutch? What variety! I do like the Cal Kings, but I sold the pair that produced this clutch. I decided that one pair (instead of two pairs) of Cal Kings will allow me to focus more on Thayeri. Thayeri and Brazilian Rainbow Boas are what I want to focus on the most... but its still fun to have a few different species on the side.

Thanks for the kind words!!

Those are two different clutches. I had one high white male and two regular females. I liked the variety too.

Good luck with yours Aubry.

Like Chris Cal kings were my first snake to breed so I'll always have a soft spot for them. Great looking hatching photos Aubrey. I would have had some this year, but sadly my female got eggbound, and she passed before my vet could operate. I've already got another female so next year is looking good, though. Keep up the cool pics.

They pretty much are. I'll be breeding them this next season.

Brunhilde is 3lbs 6ounces and target weight for breeding in females is 3lb 8ounce or heavier. There's no weight level for males but it's generaly arround 2 years old or older. So since both were born arround june of 05 they'll be nice and ready by next season.

Thanks for the compliment.

Sean.

Nice pics as always Aubrey.

I especially like the bright oranges in some of the pics and the body wash iridescence on the third or so from the bottom. How many BRB's do you have? There were obviously at least two but I wasn't sure on the total count.

Glad to see your reconnected now and hope the move went well.

Sean.

waspinator421 Aug 20, 2007 11:02 PM

Thank you Sean! I have 8 BRBs right now, and one really special one on the way. I'm really looking forward to little slimeballs of my own next season!

I held it a few months ago, I'm not really a rainbow boa person but, this one was absolutly amazing. The owner is calling them goast but I believe it to be axanthic.

Since we are just small Hobbyists, I really didn’t think of protecting the name we have used for the last four years. Someone else is now Never Enough Reptiles LLC.
