should a snake that is in shed eat? i just fed my garter today and after it had taken the mouse i noticed that it's eyes where glazed over. also how long does it take for them to shed?

some garters will eat and some won't. I would make sure it isn't a huge meal so they have no problems shedding. Feeding won't hurt htem.

ive fed certain snakes in all stages of the shed cycle, even while shedding, and i have som that refuse food ifthey are anywhere near shed. it wont hurt the snake but sometimes the shed is already stretched out when it comes off
