Either way is fine. Just know your responsibilities... whichever method you use. Maternal incubation is not just simply a matter of leaving the eggs in with mom. If you choose to use maternal incubation, learn as much as you can about how to do it properly. Here's a article to help you with info. : Article. While the article talks primarily about burms... it also talks specifically about the needs and differences of ball pythons and burms in maternal incubation.
Remember, whichever method you choose, you are responsible for providing the correct conditions for it to work.
Hope this helps,

I've used both and there are pros and cons with each - percentage wise I've done better with maternally incubated eggs - but I don't think either is necessarily better - everyone has their opinions and preferences.
Good luck!

JET Pythons
(CJBianco explaining the origins of the BP market.)
"In the beginning Bob created the Ball Python market. And the market was without morph, and wild traits were upon the industry. And Bob said, Let there be morph, and there was morph. And Bob saw the morph, that it was good; and Bob divided the morph from the wild trait. And Bob called the morph Albino, and the wild trait Normal. And the Albino and the Heterozygous Albino were the first investment.

Wes Harris is the best person to talk to on this subject. I don't think he has ever artificially incubated an egg. I think you can google him and find his website.
wesharrisreptiles.com I have been debating this myself. Just think of how many more cages I could put in my building if I don't build a 6x6 walk in incubator.
