Such thing as too much handling?

MarcusR Aug 16, 2007 10:34 PM

I just got my boa yesterday and have enjoyed having her around so far! I am just curious if its a bad idea to handle her frequently.

Is it possible to handle her too much or is there a certain time I shouldn't handle her during the day?

Thanks!

Boas are generally pretty calm and not too prone to stressing out like a ball python but you really should let your new snake settle in for a week or so with no unneccessary handling. Just handle it if the cage needs to be cleaned or if you suspect something is wrong with him. Don't handle him for a couple days after feeding also, otherwise he may regurge his meal. Good luck with him!
