Does anybody know exactly why they do that? I know Godzilla had his mouth open alot before he dehydrated. I though it was normal till then. Ever since I have made real sure Jane gets enough water, and I haven't seen her with her mouth held open since.

(Maybe if they are very thirsty their respatory system gets a little dry, so it is harder to breath, and they must breath through their mouths?)

cool down as they bask sometimes. Different then when they acually hang their mouth open as a warning to bite. LOL Eve
