Show me a picture of your Iguana cage!

ECO Aug 17, 2007 09:00 AM

Hey all, we're in the process of adding on to our nature center, and one of our new projects will be a large iguana cage for a rescued G iguana...what I'd like to see are pictures of your own INDOOR cages that would be large enough for an adult iguana...can anybody post some?...THANKS...(and yes, we'll wait until after the cage is built and set up before we adopt the iggy)

Just so you know its really hard to get pictures of indoor cages, exspecially when the cage is its own room. So I have no pictures.

The old iguana room is 7' x 9' x 83"H, lots of branches two windows a door and faux grass carpet. Not the best cage........

The temp cages for the transistion are 3' x 6' x 83"h, more branches shelves hides varied new lighting, and most likely a mist system. Currently we do daily misting. These cages are just recently completed, sorry no pictures.

The new cages are under going some revision, depending on how the temp cages turn out as far as husbandry. They will be lined with FRP given 12" min of substrate (local Dirt) and lots of Branches and a varied lighting system of my own design heavily influenced by the work of Frank Retes at Goanna Ranch. A Misting system and a make shift HVAC, mostly airflow regulation, will complete the intended goals.

I'll try and post pics of the temp cages early next week in their own thread.

Good Luck
