spiders with pink?

Kevin Saunders Aug 17, 2007 06:36 PM

This is probably a stupid question, but I've never raised ball pythons before and I'm curious about my spider. He's got the white coming up his sides, but there's a pinkish region between that and his regular lateral coloration. All the spiders I see online seem to have a clear delineation between the tan and white areas even as juvies, but maybe that's got more to do with the photography than the actual appearance of the snakes.

So my question is, will that pinkish area darken to the background color or lighten to white as he grows? Sorry if my description isn't very clear. I can try to get a pic to illustrate what I mean if needed, but it might take me a day or two. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hey Kevin, hows it going? There are several variations with the colors where your talking about. I believe I saw that spider and it typically changes.

Spiders will develop orange and peach scales where the white fades to tan. I think it takes a few sheds. I am waiting on mine to change too. I like that look better than the pink when they are young.
