Probe placement

helodermidfan Aug 17, 2007 08:29 PM

I just got a rack for some of my kings, my question is where does everyone place the probe of the thermostat? I was told to put it on the heat cable, this doesnt seem to be achieving the temps i need inside the bin however. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Put it on the heat tape and use a thermometer in the warm side of the bin (on the substrate) to adjust the heat tape so that it provides the target temp in the bin.

IE the thermostat probe on the heat tape for my pac gopher is set to 92 to achieve a warm side temp of 85 (decent gap between tape and cage bottom).
