gbk's and the moon?????

krhodes Aug 17, 2007 09:00 PM

I collect on a large ranch that has nice alterna and blairs phase gbks. This ranch has lots of river cuts along the small creeks and some are accessible. All other typical TP animals are found there as well.
Many say that full moon is bad for gbk, but what about other snakes?
Would they cruise in areas shielded by the moon?
Would they cruise if cloudy but still full moon?
What temps are too low at night to see snakes cruising, paved or dirt?
East winds bad? What about NE or SE winds?

Mainly looking for bogeys, leps, and picts.... and gbk's.

thanks for your help.

In my modest opinion the full moon has more of in impact on the animals crossing the road. With the moon out I think they can be very active in the "comfort zone" of good habitat like cuts or rock outcrops.

Also, a full moon is not always a visible moon. Sometimes moonrise or moonset give you some time, and other times you have the help of cloud cover. If you have the time, and you are in the area... then there is no reason to not give it a shot... The only way to promise yourself you will not find an alterna is to not look.
