Regurgitation

Pillsbarry Aug 17, 2007 11:22 PM

Hello,
I have a 2 month old Sierra Gartersnake (Thamnophis Couchii) and last night it ate 4 fish. This morning I found a sticky "fish-krispy treat" (not unlike a "rice-krispy treat" on the floor of his enclosure. The 4 fish had been regurgitated into 1 big glob of partially digested... um... fish. He has never done this before and I have never seen any snake do this for that matter. He has eaten that amount of fish before and been fine. Is this a sign that he is sick? I removed the glob (to my chagrin) and put 2 more live fish in his bowl which he ate later and has seemed fine. Should I be concerned? And how often should I be feeding him?

the temp could be off, and the meal could be slightly off

if they arent sick, regurging usualy means the food started to rot and swell before the snake could digest

Hey, Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. He hasn't done it since then so I'm guessing it was a 1 time thing. What tempurature should I have him at?
