Coloration, good or bad?

ecb Aug 20, 2003 10:39 AM

I know dark brown/black is a stressed out color
but what about pale grey tinted hues of her blue green colors?
it makes some of her markings Quite striking, and atractive, but my daughter says she looks sad (I agree somewhat, but maybe more like subdued, as her color is)
She actually ate some of the meal worms I had in her tank yesterday, then attacked (but missed) one of the baby feeder fish.
her activity level is down a bit, and the humidity in the tank is down, and it does not seem to matter what I do to get it back up (may have to cut outlines of the lights in the cover sheets
I have on the screens
I thought the waterfall would keep the humidity up more, not to mention the plants
I also found a neat new plant with BIG leaves, stong stems, and a bright yellow pine cone looking flower (should look nice, if it does not DIE)
also, is she a carpa, or amata?
Oh mighty panel of experts, please answer my Multitude of questions

I'm not an expert, so I don't have answers.

Just a comment that she makes my guy look pretty scrawney. But he'll probably beef up a little now that I have food that he actually likes.

but she HAS filled out since this pic
I M getting more and more sure she is female all the time
her belly is more than () now, no hard lumps in there, and she is pooping well (I M cleaning up after her every few days, and the fish eat it too)
She does not dig for her food any more (that I see) she waits for me to mix up the dirt and worms to the top

I will try to get a pic of her with my 5yo, for reference

Those are just good healthy colors for a young dragon. That is usually the relaxed state.

Skippy, I am sure your guy will start filling out now that he's eating on his own. Less Stress and he must be more comfortable in his new home now.

that was the grey
she had HUGE pieces of shed come off her chest/neck
belly, and back
she did not loose any Spines (just her horns last time)
the stuff around her mouth is not coming off
but there was neat netlike skin around her new scales, but my youngest was kinda rough on it, and it got mushed up
but I hope to have neat pics later, I missed a GREAT photo op, she was showing off her Dewlap while sitting on top of the filter
