Here is Marvin. He has been in my care for a bit over a year. He is now 4'9". He was 10" when I brought him home. He was sooo cute. For the first 9 months, I built cage after cage. By the time I finished one and put him in, time for another. Even being in construction and using lots of leftover materials, I still spent well over 1000 bucks on caging. Then theres the food. He eats 3-6 large mice or chicks a day. I'll leave the math to the reader. He lives in a 10x14 foot bedroom with his pal Bart, another nile slightly smaller than himself but just as hungry. The room is simply too cramped for them so a much larger cage is on the drawing board. Just a few things to consider when you see one of those cute little baby monitors in a pet shop.

I should also mention the amount of work involved with keeping their environment clean. The krap in the water a couple times a day. There are 2 kiddie pools each containing 15 gallons of water (thats 30)that gets changed once or twice a day, and then theres the bi weekly whole cage cleaning since they crap everywhere else besides the water too.

Sorry for the multiple posts. For some reason I could not get more than one pic on at a time.

Thanks
Roger
