Crickets

Out of curiosity, how many crickets should a Leo eat per day. We've hit 6 inches and have decided to go on a daily rampage of eating 7-10 crickets per DAY rather than the 12 per week he used to. I've even caught him trying to hunt the box of crickets from 2 feet away and bumping his nose on the glass.

Not to mention his tail is nice and plump now. Apparently I don't have to worry about him not eating enough anymore, but when is it too much.

It's not uncommon for leopards to go on a feeding binge out of nowhere. I'm sure after a short amount of time, it will ease back into its normal feeding habits. I usually feed about 5 crickets every other day.

One quick note- I'm sure it might be deceptive as to how the picture was taken but it looks line the size of the cricket your leo is chasing down is a bit large for its size. Again, this might just be the angle of the photo.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure he wasn't overdoing it. Thanks!

That cricket was a little big, now and then I get one that hides in the cage and grows. He never did end up catching it, it bounced away a second later. I ended up chasing it around cage at 4 AM since it started to chirp.
