Using tile to heat tank

krawf4 Aug 20, 2007 10:43 AM

I am building an enclosure for my snakes and I need a way to heat it. I have been thinking about using a tile cut to size with a heat pad or heat tape mounted to the bottom of it. If needed I will hook this up to a thermostat/rheostat to control the temp. Does this sound like it will work? The rest of the bottom of the tank will probably be wood unless I tile that too, which I feel may make for easier cleanup and less work with staining. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.
