"Long time Herper, first year Breeder `07."

I have photos, but i just got in. Soem people are still driving back today and some have elected to stay sunday night and leave monday (today) and will probably get a look on here on tuesday fro the first time..
Guess you will have to wait a couple more days for pics. I am exhausted but had a great time meeeting people from the forums and sevral old freinds. ChrisH was a trip and so was Mark (Crimsonking). I just wish the whole thing would last longer to get to know people more.
It was a blast. Just wish i was not so tired during the whole trip.
Post pics in 2 days after I get my snakes put back and watered.

"Yeah ya told me, and ya wrote it down too. But how the hell am I supposed to remember!"
whos Chris H?(Harrison) ,i know ChrisD was a trip maker cause i drove back and forth Sat and Sun. 2 hrs times 4 probably equivilent to your drive and poor TomS drove from Austin or San Antonio.Great show and good people..........
I meant ChrisD , I mean you. Still tired and my error for typos is always bad anyway

Tom S is indestructible and slept a total of 13 hours between Thursday and Saturday. Don't feel bad for him, coffee is a perfect counter for alcohol. He said it was well worth it.
Tom S.....wait a minute....that's me? Damn I am tired, great seeing you bud...sorry I sold my last Ball Python before you got to my table, try n see me a little earlier next year

You shoulda seen Rainers face when he turned around after i blind asked him if he had any BPs on his table, before he saw me,and it was nice to see you too , i was also there on Sat.and missed you ,so you were on the list when i choose to go back on Sun.........Now get some sleep L8rrrrrr C
Wow - I can't do that.
If I don't get 7 hours of sleep for one night, I'm OK - two nights in a row < 7, and I have to take a nap or I start zoning out. Even with coffee, red bull, jolt, whatever.
I use to be able to do it - but I just can't anymore.

11.14 L. getula californiae (Cal. King)
2.3 L. getula nigrita (MBK)
1.0 L. getula floridana (Brooksi)
1.1 Pantherophis guttatus guttatus (Corn)
0.1 Pituophis catenifer catenifer (Pacific gopher)
0.1 Heterodon nasicus nasicus (W Hognose)
4.2.14 Elgaria multicarinata multicarinata - (Cal. Alligator Lizard)
Well now that I am out of Daytona mode I am tired as a person can be..... no regrets though. Seeing people only once a year means making the most of it. I was able to hang out with a few good friends, the same group I hang out with every year. That is seriously the best part. Awesome AWESOME weekend. By the way colubrids were more so appreciated this year as opposed to what I remember from the previous three

haha, I can verify that
1) Tom doesn't know who he is due to sleep deprivation and
2) Coffee can be a great counter to brews, if taken in enough quantities!
What a blast! Gonna be a few days to post pics too, animals are thirsty and hungry and there is a storm a brewin' in my back yard!

ok, ok, I WAS gonna get some sleep, but.... here's a few views of the angles I got, the good, the bad, and the ugly! Tom's table was at the far northeast corner, Rainer was at the southwest end, Zee was upstairs west, Mark Kenderdine was at the north outer ring middle, it was hard to get to everyone but I saw many fabulous things, if you don't look for balls and other python/boids, you see a lot of colubrids. Tons of turtles, and many leopard gecks but hey, enough for all to enjoy!

lots of good people...

what the heck, I snuck off the previous day to do some of this...all lifers for me!

Todd, good pics. It was a blast hanging out with you and everybody else Friday and Saturday.
Scott Robinson
Let's spend some time in the field next year, if we can get the Crimson King to guide us, we should have a blast!

Todd Hughes
Most definitely.

We still had fun (after being stuck in traffic for hours and getting there too late to set up on Fri..)
but took only a few photos. It wasn't easy for me to leave the table and talk much w/other vendors either day. Every year I do that! doh!
I seem to have come away with the feeling that there were not as many BP morphs being sold...maybe traded from seller to seller?? Also overheard a BIG python guy saying he did very little. Maybe new large constrictor regs. had something to do with it??
I dunno.
Kingsnakes still had a pretty nice presence I think and represented well.
I do know there were some nice animals of course and some low prices.
Talked with fellow forum-ers Bluerosy, Nokturnel Tom, Bill & Kathy Love,BlueKing,Howie Sherman, and others. Was sad to see TonyD. MIA.!
Derek (Kingsnaken), we wish we would've had more time to bs with everyone and are humbled by the kind words below.
I apologize for not taking more time with friends.
Helping out newbies with their questions and all is one of the things I like most but it does take some time.
I came back with lots of stuff and animals I was gifted by friends.
Thanks to TonyD.,Phil S., the Loves, Howie S.,Chuck S., and Conrad R.!!!!
Overall I saw lots of smiling people and loads of kids with their eyes wide open and jaws dropped.. (just like we used to do)
I'll post pics of some fine animals after I get squared away.
Oh yeah, I came home to my 2x het/ghost X 2x het/ghost eggs hatching... I see an axanthic head.....and maybe a.....

..pix of what I brought home with me...
(probably the worst set of pix I've ever posted..sorry..in a hurry to get them boxed and watered)
anyway,
NC getula

goini

north FL mole king

HUGE female south FL mole king

I have some great friends huh??
and some I had to LEAVE there!
oops...well...sorry you had to see this...

:Mark

Surrender Dorothy!
yeah, you have a great set of friends, i like that goini's pattern. where is the NC king from? I admire your spirit, especially spending time helping newbies, when you could be roaming.
Wow, Tom and Rainer, what a combo. Call Security!!!! I was telling Rainer that #49 used to be my table next to Howie. I asked him to see if my initials were still carved in the table, hahaha... yes, I will have to get back there and will have to reclaim some table space (3rd floor?), selling something!
daveb
I think I have the best friends in the world Dave..
The NC getula will make a trio from Currituck county..Tony D.'s stompin grounds...haha Thanks Tony!
Babies should be awesome..
While Rainer thinks the show should run longer, I'm not so sure... I mean, it sounds like trouble afoot..
I'll tell you, waiting on this clutch of double het eggs (your female) has me excited and I'm like a little kid opening the box every few minutes.. One nice axanthic so far..

Surrender Dorothy!
Hey Mark nice group and nice friends!!! Where and who is the SFMK from?? I almost picked up a Goini at a local show up here but the vendor that had it was also selling a bunch of WC stuff so I just couldn't bring myself to give him money. Maybe I should have had someone else buy it and then buy it from them. HAHA I did get another pair of adult glades though!!!
Jason
The sfmk is a 6=7 yr old cb and from DeSoto county lines. A friend from AZ dropped her (and the north Florida one) in my lap Sat. Totally unexpected.
Nice!
She's a cannibal though so I better watch out next year.
:Mark

Surrender Dorothy!
Mark, keep me updated on that clutch, maybe you'll pop another hot ghost like last year! incubation is always my favorite part of this hobby, and when they start popping out it's better than xmas!
btw, how's those rossalleni eggs doing? almost done cooking?
daveb
Glades have hatched (1st clutch anyway) and I can't tell what the hell I'm looking at here Dave with this double het clutch...2 out of 3 look awful ghostlike...hahaha but perfectly patterned...so I'll wait. Def. not normals!

Surrender Dorothy!
I pulled that female off a construction site in south Currituck. Initially she wasn't a good feeder but has started taking feed if left over night. She should be a good pairing to the male Mark has which was one of the nicer easterns I've ever seen from Currituck. As for the show sorry I missed everyone. last minute situation at work caused me to miss being able to drive down and flights on short notice were just too pricey.
Excellent pics Mark. Looks like Tom & Rainer were having a good time. And where did Howie run off to?
Hope everyone had a great time.

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS
In my experience with Howie, he is able to work the entire room, not just his table, hahaha. Learned a bit sitting next to him at the big show. Too bad he didn't make that picture!
daveb
I too met a lot of nice people from here. I won't list the names since I'm sure I'll leave someone out. But you know who you are! Nice meeting you--see you next year at the Daytona Ball Python Breeders' Expo. Just kidding. Lots of nice stuff besides those...
It was far out! The kings were there and accounted for, Zee had Georgia oranges, big boy was on display, I "helped at Tom's table and he moved several nice kings, saw Mark K. with a few I shoulda took home, Mark lemme know! Saw a lot of GBK's and even some OBK's. A little bit of something for everyone. Great show, I thought and great companions at the after parties!

Todd he literally has your name on it. I was gonna send him with ya but you disappeared...Qould've made an effort to road cruise Sat but...(friends saw like 4 canebrakes among other stuff)

ooohhhhchhhh! LOL! Canebrake woulda' been schweet! There is always next year, I am hooked, Tom has me on the path of enlightenment! What a show, what a field trip, I am down for some cane kings, salt marsh snakes, corns, yellow rats, whatever! I will hook up with you on the goini, yours are fantastic! I was stoked to get out of there with 1.2 Mexican bairdi, 1.1 of which were breeding adults, another goini, and had my eyes on some thayeri but withstood the urge. All in all, I couldn't be happier!

Todd Hughes
Not a king, but cool in it's own right! I will wait till everyone has had a stress free nap and cool drink for more pics but here's one of my treasures from John Schmitt of Suncoast Herpetological. Thanks so much John, looking forward to doing more business with you!
-----
Todd Hughes
I have always enjoyed John. He is really a great guy. The problem I have with him is that I always talk to him when I see him, and that is usually at his table, and if I stand infront of his table long enough I always buy something.
It is just not fair. He produces a bunch of nice stuff.
Jason
Another Great year. It was great to pick the brains of Tom, Mark and Rainer and of course Lindsay, who has answered literally hundreds of my questions over the last few years. A really great bunch of guys who definately have a passion for snakes. I did pick up a few Kings, would like to have gotten one more but you know how that goes. Time to start saving for next year.
