Okay - so I gave them a moist hide box!

ShadyLady Aug 20, 2007 03:32 PM

They climbed in within a hour after I put it in their cage, and they haven't been seen out of it in 5 days! Course I was in Daytona a couple of days, but ... Now I feel like a really bad Mom for not giving them the hide. They have both crammed their fat selves into one sweater box! I'll get them another one soon as I get caught up from the trip.

All mine will stay in the moss boxes only coming out to eat, drink or shed. Kinda makes the minimal cage size thing a bit of a joke. No matter what size cage you give them, they will spend most of their time stuffed into the smallest space they can find!!

My CRB did the same thing and I'm glad I gave it to her because she loves. On the other hand I almost never get to see her out in her cage anymore and I almost feel bad because I want to take it away so I can watch her explore again... ... oh well as long as she's happy I'm happy and she hasn't had problems shedding since I put the box in so it's all good I guess.

The downside is that you will not se your brb's too much, as they love the moss boxes. It does make cleaning easier, because it is easy to work around the moss box.

LOL, I pick up the moss box with the snake inside, set it on my workbench while I clean the cage. They almost never even poke their heads out. Only way I know for sure they're in there is by weight!

I don't like not being able to see them. The male has come out a couple of times and/or peeked his head out, but I haven't seen the female since I put the box in there. Poo!

it is in the best interest of your BRB's. There's a reason they stay in the damp hide.....they like it in there!! Feels nice and comfy and safe!
