good news bad news and HORIBLE news

TimS Aug 20, 2007 06:17 PM

well the good news is everythign is ok now and i got my dumerils for a super killer price bad news is the dums are in pretty good shape not the best but very easily fixed and they are in there new q rack

good news is i got my oil change and tire rotation done for free today lol horrible news is while i was getting it done i get a phone call sayin all the power went out within a 1 mile radious of out house what makes this worse is i still have ball python eggs incubating lol not good. good news is i go grab as many milk jugs as you can find fill them with hot water and as fast as you can open the incubator and put them in and close it up. well three hours later the temps are at a low end safe zaone wich is ok and power has come back on *wipes sweat from head* close one.

bad news is i didnt save any money on my car insurance thru this whole ordeal lol damn you giecko.

but here are some pics ill get some better ones up later
my girl and the male dum

male dum

my girl and girl dum

girl dum head love the markings

girl dum

a lil background info the girl had a bad shed when i first went to go look at them and i helped her shed right then and there she also has a iffy temper both were housed together on aspen with one hide and a water dish with a few drift wood pieces whatever well the male was open mouth breathing when put back after doing my inspection of them but no drool no goo no muchas so we are goo dthere lol also no crusty vent so a lil TLC these guys will be rockin out in no time oh and they were only fed once a month like there whole life so im not sure on age but from what i have heard on how long he has had them where he got them from etc sounds like about 2-3 years old roughly. neither one are skinny but could be chunkier. thats my story and im stickin to it. ill post more pics once they are settled in eating etc then i can hopefully get there true colors its off in pics

save any money on car insurance, that's awful news!!

Glad everything else turned out OK. Have you thought of a backup generator? Just a tiny one would be enough for the incubator and a cage or twelve?

My backup plan is to hook my motor home generator to my house after I disconnect from the grid. Have made special cords to allow me to do just that. Works like a charm. Lights are out on the block and we're watching TV and popping micorwave popcorn....LOL!! Bad news is it's not stored at home but I don't have anything like an incubator that couldn't survive just fine for a few hours on residual heat!!

I've always liked the coloring on Dums, just never got any.

i was thinking about some kind of generator but i am super poor lol in total i think i paid under $100 for these two lol. but shh dont tell the guy i got them from lol he is a cool guy tho not the most reptile educated but willing to learn so thats good. Anywhos im deff thinking about looking into some kind of tiny generator of some sort just incase somethign like this may accour again luckily with the windows and doors in snake room closed up and the water bottles tossed in everythign was A-OK. but dums are cool i have loved them forever and always im gonna get one this year oo killer dewal i gotta get them well needless to say 6 years of wanting one i finaly got a pair.
