rogerm Aug 20, 2007 11:10 PM

Hi

Although I'm new to the breeding aspect I am not new to leos.Have had them them for about 10 yrs now.I ahve a female that is 65 grams and a male that is 75 grams. I put the male in with the female. The male did the gecko dance in the corner of the tank and was not interested in the female.I tried them in mid afternoon.Any Ideas.Do they have to be cooled down first?Any suggestions?

It is getting pretty close to the 'typical' end of the breeding period. However, I do have one last female that is still laying.

What I would do is introduce the male for a couple days, then separate them. Repeat this 3 or 4 times. Sometimes it takes the repetition to stimulate the female.

Again, don't be disappointed if you do not get eggs this season.

On the topic of cooling down the leopards, some breeders to and some don't. It really depends on what you want to do. I've done both and really don't see a difference.
