I have a male(as far as I am aware) Amelanistic Corn snake. He is about 4-6 years old now, and is fed every week. Now, a few weeks ago I went to Norway for a week and left him in the care of my Uncle. He bought a mouse for him that week, and one for the week I returned, now. To cut a long story short, the mice were much larger than he is used to and he seemed to have difficulty realigning his jaw.
I took him to the Vet, and the vet agreed with me that perhaps he just strained himself on the big mouse, and that I should let him rest and eat pinkies.
Now, a few weeks on, and I have another strange feeding occurence;
I think my (supposedly male) snake has become sexually active, since tonight after feeding him I noticed two small previously unknown entities protruding from his anal scale, these were a pink and fleshy colour, and shaped like little tin cans. Now, I'm wondering, is this normal for him to just whip 'em out like that?
Or could there be something wrong with him?
If anyone has any advice, or can tell me if these are actually snake genitalia I'm describing or something more sinister It would be much appreciated.
Or even.. if you could give me the email address of a good herpetologist or specialist I can write to ask?
Many thanks,
Demislave.
