Is cocout fiber bedding safe for aprox. four month old geckos?

PoohBear03031 Aug 20, 2003 02:09 PM

I only use it in the adults hidebox right now, I was just wondering if the babies are still too young to use it in theirs. Thanks for any help you can give me.

personally, just to be on the safe side, i wouldn't use the bedding with the babies. leos can eat the weirdest stuff...i use wet paper towels in all my leos' humid hides (including the babies' hide) and it works great for me. No mess, no chance of impaction, and works better than some of the loose bedding i have used.

I use paper towels for my babies, but switch them to the coconut bedding as they get bigger. I sift it through some wire mesh though, to get out any big chunks. I haven't ever had any problems, but of course paper towels are probably a little safer. Its your call.
