use myspace to network with other people that are into snakes and reptiles? I am thinking of getting a page (probably the last person on earth not to have one) and just devoting it to the hobby...thanks in advance for all the replies...

Guess that make us "next to last"
I prefer AT&T and WWW to get the networking handled.

I have a myspace, I don't go on much but I am forever grateful to that website, it's how I reconnected with my long lost high school sweetheart from 13 years ago and now we're engaged. So it's not all bad. Most of my friends in my age group (30's) also have pages and since I moved from Las Vegas it helps me keep in contact with them and share pics, etc as well as family members that are across the U.S. Another site (can't say their name here) about snakes has a myspace set up, so they are out there.

my space = my spam site
be prepared for a tonne of unsolicited emails.

face book is much better for networking imo.

i personaly dont get 1 spam mail to my regular e-mail or to my myspace if i see somehting that even looks clost to might be spam on myspace i just click the spam button lol

I've never gotten spam emails from having a myspace. I maybe get one spam friend request every 6 months but that's it. I've been a member of that site for about 2 years now and no complaints. My fiance gets a lot more spam friend requests than I do, I have a feeling it has to do with being a guy since most of the spam friend requests are porn related junk.

I have a page... but I rarely go to it.

I don't get spam, but I do get many MANY attempted "spamlike" friend requests, which are really annoying to sort through. I turned off notification, so I won't know how many fake requests I have until I log on (which I haven't done in quite a while).

But, there are a lot of reptile groups there. I just think forums can be a bit easier, since you go there for a specific purpose, and troublemakers are easy to spot. Myspace is so multipurpose that it seems to get "messy". It is a good tool for connecting, though, I just don't use it much myself.
