It's really fairly simply. Just compare the tail length behind the vent. The longer tail is the male, the shorter female. If you have several, it's usually easy once you can identify a male
to compare the others to. I will post some pictures for comparison shortly.

As stated in the other reply, it's easy when you have a clutch to compare. The pics are a good example. When you don't have a group to compare and your really not sure, probes are the way to go. I have a set of 3 extra small probes that work great. The smallest is small enough for even the smallest hog hatchlings. Probes aren't that hard to use. You just need to use common sense, don't be forceful, and be patient.
