I hatched a few whitethroat monitors that had nice big yolks like that. I left it in the incubator for a couple of days, then tied the cord off as close to the body as i could and cut off the yolk, all of the animals survived and were perfectly healthy, just had a slower start than normal.
here is a pic of one two years later:

I'd keep the snake on damp paper towels until that thing falls off. Usually this will be after the first shed, which happens a few days after hognose hatch.

it should be fine.. keep him on damp paper towels for a few days and it will dry up and fall off..

It will be fine. It's normal, but usually they don't crawl out of the egg until the yoke is absorbed and the cord falls off.

Did the snake crawl out of the egg on it's own like that?

It will probably die...

...if thats the opening.

Its hard to tell from the pic, but if that area where the unbilical cord comes out is that large it will most likely succumb in 2 mos.

I had one do the same thing this year. He eventually healed up and then died. He was always smaller than his siblings.
