50 watt or 75 watt?

hey guys, i really need help, this is the light i will be leaving on at night for my snake and....it only comes in 50 and 75 watt....i heard u should use 60 watt but they do not have it. my tank is about 1 feet in height and 3 feet in length...i also have a small under tank heating mat, i live in canada and there is winter, so which one should i get? 50 or 75 watt? thanks man

If you have the heat pad running all the time, you probably don't need the lamp on at night, in which case I would recommend just to use a regular household lamp - they are cheaper and work just as well for heating the cage.

Nobody can tell you what watt bulb you need - it will vary depending on things like room temp, size and material of tank, ventilation, etc. The only way to find out what size is best is to test it out. Get a decent thermometer (not a stick on kind) and place it on the substrate on the hot side of the tank. You want it mid-high 80s. You also want to make sure the heat pad doesn't get too hot, so you should measure the temp directly on the glass above the heat pad.
