Nelsons ?

dinodon Aug 23, 2007 10:39 AM

I have a young adult fem Nelsoni. That I've been keeping for over a year, she was a little jumpy when I got her, but never had probles feeding.
She passed the jumpy stage about a year ago, and has been pretty calm. 6 weeks ago she just went crazy, flighty and stopped eating. this has got me concerned as I want to breed her next year. Nothing has changed with he enclosue, she is checked on daily and always has been, except for the last few weeks. I've giving her a little space but she still like a coild spring. She is other wise in very good health.
I've never had an adult snake go crazy for such a long time for no apparent reson.
This is the first Nelsoni and was wondering if this is normal for this species to go through a flighty stage again when they reach adult hood ?
I'm at a loss for ideas ?
Thaks

Giver the snake a cooler retreat that she can bury herself in. Sometimes that helps. I use the coconut fiber substrate like Eco Earth.

your actual temps. This time of year with all the heat outside can give you higher temps in the terrariums, which can lead to VERY flighty snakes.
