Reduced Pattern

JoshMolone Aug 23, 2007 07:56 PM

Is a Reduced Pattern a proven genetic morph? I have a Pastel... If I breed it to a Reduced Pattern, is it possible to get Reduced Pastel?

Reduced is genetic...if you get one that has been proven so. I know there's at least one (probably more) lines of reduced out there that are genetic. I think someone even bred theirs to a pastel at some point.

Some reduceds are just nice flukes, and some actually inherit the genes. I'm sure someone around here remembers who exactly was working with the reduced pattern.

Ok, If you know anyone who knows the proven line, please tell me.

Here are a handful of genetic reduced patterns (simple recessive, most of the hets do have alot of banding).

I call this particular line MUDSLIDE (bartender by trade, and I believe the name fits the pattern nicely).

Enjoy!

I know the albino isn't the best morph to combine this trait with, but that's all I had available many years ago.

Where did you get those? And what genetic line are they?

I believe he produced them(,and has shown his progress with them on here.)...which makes them his line.

They look great Rich!

Rich produced those by breeding an imported female and spending years line breeding her offspring to prove their genetics.

I purchased 1.2 reduced pattern imported babies a few years ago. (Same time & source as Camlon Reptiles, only their's is REALLY reduced & looks a lot better than the one's I got. LOL) Anyway in 06 one female laid and I got one baby. It is somewhat more reduced than the parents. In 07 both females laid. Babies from the female that laid in 06 have the slightly more reduced pattern and the babies from the second female have really reduced patterns, I call them super reduced. These photos are of the babies from the second female. It is definately genetic.

Those are all nice reduced patterned Animals . I have a nice looking female that i have bred 2 years now in a row and both times there were some that looked just like her and Morphed babys "Pinstripes" in this case had a reduced amount of stripes. Those are the ones I really like. I kepted back two female Normals and the female Pins. Someday I will get some shots of the Normals they look exactly like thier Mom. She seems to throw reduced babys no matter what she is bred with It will show up in the 1st breeding. I sure like that one of Debra and Diana's. I don't think they come anymore Reduced then that.!

and heres some pins out of her.

I have the two founding adults, imported from the same locality and source on consecutive years. When bred together, 100% of the babies are reduced. When bred to normals, none of the babies show the reduced traits. I'll first have a chance to breed one of my "hets" this winter. Note the broken eyestripe that pops up in many of my reduced babies...I like it...
