Well, I was worried my geckos weren't breeding, but I just found two eggs in my tank! I know that getting cresties to lay eggs isn't exactly difficult, but these are my very first eggs, so I'm feeling a bit giddy.

The problem, though, is that my female somehow laid them UNDER the lay box. There was some sphagnum moss there that was somewhat damp from misting runoff, but I have no idea how long they've been there. They have no mold or dents and seem solid. However, they have sort of a yellowish-brown patina over them - I assume it's just residue from the moss, but I'm worried. What are some warning signs I should look for besides mold, dents, or wrinkling?

Well, even if the eggs aren't good, at least I know my geckos are breeding! I'll have to rearrange my cage so that I can check all the substrate easily.
