Fiji Crested Iguana...TC
Wow! Is that full sized? I have seen blue-green Fiji iguanas before, but the mottled pattern with brown and white is new to me. Are they legal here??
of Fiji Iguanas. This species was only discovered in the late 1970's. The description and info was presented in a scientific paper at an IHS meeting in Knoxville, Tn. I don't believe any of this species are held in captivity in the U.S. at present. They're an endangered species and can't be purchased or traded in any way without federal permits. TC
Its a banded / crested hybrid. Just seein if anyone noticed.
it is a Crested Fiji Iguana[ Brachilophis vitiensis ]. TC
It's a hybrid, there's only one and it's at the san diego zoo.
I forgot to mention, look at the arms and you'll notice the blue coloration like on banded fijians.
you say so. I've only seen 2 living lizards but lots of pics. I personaly know Fern and her husband who discovered the lizards. I also was lucky enough to be at the IHS metting where the paper was given. But rest assured I know little about them. All of the ones I saw looked like the pics. thanks...Tom Crutchfield
Hmm, a name... how about Fluffy?
