I find this string of posts extremely distasteful! Especially as someone who hatched out a deformed dragon this year. My baby will need and receive special accomodations and care for hopefully the next 10 years or so. This is the responsibility I took on when I chose to place eggs in an incubator.
Too many people look at animals as a commodity. They are not. This is not nature where survival of the fitest rules. Plus who says a dragon with a curly tail won't turn out to be the fittest in nature. Certainly not if placed in an enclosed space with a larger predator. To me this is cruel.
That's why I would never own a snake. I can't watch a mouse tremble in fear in the corner on an enclosure waiting for it's fate. It's just too cruel.
Obviously to some the "fittest" is the amimal that can fetch the best price. Even in the case of a dragon born without sight it is still cruel to make the decision to classify it's value as only food. The humane and ethical thing to do would be to have the animal euthanized by a vet. That way it could die without fear and pain.
I couldn't sleep at night even contemplating what is suggested here.
