"Fengya Flame" Brooksi Kingsnake 2003 Male .

Keith Hillson Aug 20, 2003 04:15 PM

Just got this little guy today. Originally 1.2 came but both females died in shipping but thankfully he didnt. Unbelievably I found the guy who has almost all of Bob Fengya's animals and was able to talk him into selling me one of his holdback males. This pic does not do this snake justice at all his color is a much deeper red but looks more orange in this pic (maybe its my monitor). I will get another female soon and get pics of her up. Also I take back the "Hypo theory" I had on Bob's aniamls LOL as this snake is not a hypo at all and is as red as any Brooksi Ive ever seen !

Lucky you... Well maybe unlucky. I would have been having a frigging heart attack if I lost two high red animals like that.

How did this perosn ship? I ship out almost everyday (except friday) for the last two months and I never lost one yet.

Was it the packaging? Where they crammed into a deli cup like they should have been. Or were they sitting in a loose box and getting bounced back and forth?

Could have been heat. Did the package sit at your door for a while? If so then it would be your fault.

I have gotten soem of the worst packaging from other herpers I bought snakes from. They think the snakes need lots of air ect. I always tell them these snakes live in holes and crevices. When shipping fill a deli cup to the top and then pack in a box with styrofoam peanuts so that the deli cup does not move.

Anyway, thats a nice animal. I guess I am more upset than you are.

I think it was just bad luck. They got stuck on the truck longer than should have been. The 2 females were not Flames but animals from the same bloodline. He is being kind enough to replace them for me. Its a risk anybody runs when you ship. Yes there are steps you can take to lessen the risk but any number of things can go wrong.

Did you buy that snake out of New Jersey. Perhaps from the JerseyDevil???
Just curious,

No I didnt get it from the NJ Devil but I do want that female !. We both got them from the same guy. Im sorry Im being vague but he doesnt want me to give out his name plus he has no more "Flames" He only produced 3 this year my male Jersey's female and another male he is keeping. He will have more next year and is in the process of getting online (he doesnt own a computer).

Regards,

Keith

p.s. I also asked him what are the chances the Jersey Devil would sell his female and he said that he wouldnt sell that thing for any amount of $ and after getting mine I see why.

It just looked all too familiar. I new there was some connection. The JerseyDevil never even dropped me a line. I wouldn't sell it if I had it either. LOL!

This is a sibling to mine.

These are picks taken by JerseyDevil . He got this female from the same guy I did. The guy who produced these is a good friend of Bob Fengya's hence he has most of Bob's animals. I was hoping

Bro,

That sucks that you lost the two females during shipping. But even though I'm sad for you right now, I gotta tell you that red male is the hottest brooski I think I've ever seen. Wow! Later.

Will
