melanistics everywhere!

in the past week I have seen 3 adult melanistic garters and 7 young ones!! it just suddenly happened, they just started showing up everywhere. thought this was worth mentioning.

Hello - Do you know what variety of garter? The melanistic common garter is from the Great Lakes area, no?

i really dont know what sort they are, here is a pic of one of the normal garters here, would this be a plains? next time i see a melanistic, i'll pick it up and take a pic or two.
