Can't go wrong with the beauty of the orange babies that change as they grow, and those INSANE white eyes! (Savu)

They are DEFINITELY on my 'next python to get' list...

My vote's for the Savu.

I have a female Savu and she has to be one of the most handleable snakes I own.

The few Macklott's I've seen have been a bit more snappish.

I like the looks of the Savu - the eyes are amazing and I love the coloration. One of my favortie snakes.

Macklott's have a bit more irridescence IMO, so I'd vote for them. In addition, I miss the big female I had a while back... sniff, sniff. Also, I tend to like snakes that are a little more on the "snappy" side! Makes thing more interesting

when dealing w/ their attitude, it's helpful to practice a maniacal laugh for those "close calls"!

lol yeah I guess that will work. Seems I was doing that anyway, lol. they are pretty small, should I feed pinkies or small mice?

captnemo Aug 29, 2007 09:30 AM

They seem to be able to handle some pretty big meals from what I remember (haven't owned one in a few years), so I'd suggest going a little on the bigger side, as long as you're not stuffing it. Mine loved rats as an adult (pushing 9' !!!), but now I keep mostly carpets and other Aussie snakes, so my first order of business is getting them on rats as young as possible. Experiment and have fun...you've got one of my all-time faves! Congrats!
