Texas Herp Laws

Hi, i'm sure this has been addressed alot in here but i'm trying to find detailed information on the new law, i read that it was the 5 large constrictors but cant find on where or how to obtain a permit to keep them and when they'll be available, does anyone know exacly?

I am left with the impression that nobody is sure how this will play out yet... Hilderbran just drafts the law, he is not concerned with those little things like details or data.

With my last communication with TP&W, it was said that a permit system is supposed to be in place for April 08'. On the other hand, others in the department are trying to kick it back since they realize they are not capable of pulling this off. It seems some of them are realizing that what we have been telling them all along is true. They do not have the training, equipment, knowledge, or staffing to do this. Time will tell.

With any help we can work with the lawmakers and TP&W going forward to keep them from shooting their own foot off with loaded legislation. But for now they have left everybody with a mess that needs to be cleaned up this time around... If they would only listen
