Hey, i was just wondering if yellow and green anacondas are eating turtles in the wild. Can they digest the shell?
Hope someone know.

dead. I know that alligators eat turtles.
There are several cases of anacondas eating turtles with little more then shell fragments being passed although it is rare. Usaully it is when they are all "shut up" into the shell though. There is even a case of a turtle that was said to have sliced the snake open with it's shell. Depending on size of snake though I doubt there would be any damage to the turtle when it was constricted, however, the snake could indeed swallow it and even though a turtle can hold its breath for long amounts of time possibly even could drown the turtle.

pop them or crush them open. When my adult female Hog starts
getting active and wants to get taken out of her cage, I can't
help but worry a little. She could easily break open the
Neodesha 4 footer I have her in if she was just a little bit

right out of the cement floor.

I agree, however, given the mess that is made sometimes when a turtle is crushed it is most likely easier swallowed as a whole instead of a crushy mess.
