exo terra - Vine - question...

iso Aug 20, 2003 05:04 PM

I was at my local store yesterday and finally saw an exoterra vine.

What is all that stuff on it? it seemed to come off easily. looked like cork or something.

Anybody using these or seen them? Are they safe? Id hate to kill my guy becasue he ate something off a branch.

thank you

we have one of these in our Vields cage (med size) and so far nothing bad has happened. When I bought it I thought the same thing you did but weve had it since May and I havent seen anything fall off the vine.

And I havent noticed him trying to eat it though he tries to eat other plastic plants in his cage. Hope this helps, I'm new to the chameleon thing myself just thought I'd share my experience with them

maybe wait and see what the others say

Make sure they are non toxic plants such as ficus or hibiscus!

yah we're planning on getting some real plants for his cage but the first 2 places we went and looked for plants they didnt look very healhty and the last place has great ones but more pricey -

we just spent $1000 bucks getting our Rotti pup outta the vet because he caught Parvo ( its a puppy disease ) so we have to wait till thw end of this month to get him some plants.

I found this site

http://www.geocities.com/chameleoncreatures/nontoxicplants.html

to make sure his plants are Cham safe...

anyone recomend any types of plants??

i prefer hibiscus for my cages, ficus plants have a very nasty sap, that can cause serious pain if it gets into an eye. another good one would be pothos.

I don't know where you live, but home depot has great deals on tropicals-you can usualy get one in a ten inch pot(about1-1 1/2 feet tall) for about $7, often less! Good luck!
