Poss. Hets

If I breed a Poss. Het to a Poss. Het, would the hatchlings be Poss. Hets or 100% hets?

they would only be 100% hets if you breed a visual morph to a normal ... for example if you breed a;

albino to a normal the babies will be 100% het for albino

albino to a 100% het albino: half of the babies will be albino and half of the babies will be 100% hets

100% het albino to 100% het albino: 25% of the babies will be albino, 25% of the babies will be normals and 50% of the babies will be 100% hets

There is no way to tell the differance between a 100% het, a poss het and a normal except to prove them out by breeding them.

Is you breed a poss het to a poss het ... best case would be you breed them and get a visual morph (which proves out your poss hets and makes them 100% hets) ... if you dont produce any visual morphs then the babies at best would be poss hets

Pos het males are basically worth what a normal is worth. The way to play pos hets is to breed known het males to pos het females.

This is a great way to get in on the game the cheapest way possible.

Yes but I would say if your going to mess with poss hets at then then do like you said and only use poss het females, but I would use a visual morph male.

This way its a pretty much know for sure deal and the females are easy to prove out .... it you go 100% male to poss het females there is still the likely hood that even if the female is really a 100% het that she wont prove out the first clutch.

I dont like poss hets ... BP Morphs are complicated enough as it is!!

Ok... I think ill go with an Albino male and 100% female...

Thats what I did, I ended up with a 06' Albino male thats poss het pied and several 06' 100% het albino females that are also poss het pied.

This way im safe on the albino genetics and if the Pied gene ever proved out then it will just be a bonus

Shop around, im sure you can find a great deal on them ... I picked up the above group for $1,000 shipped

Ok.. Whats the chance of acually getting an Albino from breeding an Albino to a 100% Het.?

That 50% chance is independent per each egg. The more eggs you hatch the better your cumulative chance. From albino X het albino if you hatch 6 eggs you have a 63 out of 64 chance of at least 1 albino (that’s about 98.4%).

GLZ Aug 25, 2007 01:52 PM

the statistics say if u breed a albino to a 100% het albino you will get 50% albino babies and 50% 100% het albinos ... so let say you breed these and they lay 8 eggs statisticly speaking you would get 4 albinos and 4 100% het albinos

now you could end up with 1 albino and 7 100% hets or you could end up with 5 albinos and 3 hets, etc, etc.. its a odds game but all babies produced will either be albino or 100% het albino

Just a heads up for those that may be lurking and dont have a heavy wallet and would like to produce some morphs on a budget. If you go the pos het route you can basically get them at normal pricing but the fun is finding that gene. What I would suggest is to buy a 100% het male and then buy all the girls of a possible het clutch. The odds are one of the girls will be a 100% het you just have to find her!!!!!!!!So for example you buy a 100% male het for albino for 150.00 you buy a clutch of 4 50% het females for 60.00 each So for 390.00 you have a very good possibility of producing a albino. If only one proves out you have 3 adult females to breed that pastel or spider to. Just beware when buying hets make sure its a repitable breeder or someone you really trust. 4-5 years is a long time to invest on normals.Just my two cents!
