Eggs past their hatch date...

mrredsdesigns Aug 25, 2007 07:55 PM

I have 5 eggs here that were due to hatch around the 18th. it's been a week since and they haven't hatched. I have some pics here for you experts to view and give me your opinions. The pics aren't all that great but they show what the eggs currently look like. I've decided to allow the eggs to continue incubating to see if they will hatch out. What is everyone's suggestions on what I should do? Any and all help and/or info will be greatly appreciated.
I have a pic showing all the eggs, temps are at around 90 and the humidity is between 80 and 85. Then I have 2 pics of me candling the eggs. It may not look like it but the lower half of the eggs are nice and dark when candled.

Well I've read of people waiting longer time periods for their snakes to drop. But I haven't really seen anything on anyone having to wait longer for the eggs to hatch. I'll just continue as I have been and wait as patiently as I can for them to hatch.
Thanks for the responses.

Well thanks to all who responded. I just got done cutting the eggs and they all look to be doing good. This whole time I didn't know who the father was, either my pastel or my het ghost. But after cutting the eggs, it looks like there's 2 pastels and 3 normals. I'll be sure to post pics when they have all left their eggs. Thanks again to everyone for your help.

90 is the right temperature to be hatching ball python eggs. That is certainly not low at all.

A snakes hatch date is the date they hatch, so if you want to split hairs a snake can never be late or early for it's hatch date. Your eggs may be overdue in YOUR mind, but I'm guessing the eggs know better. If they candle healthy, you've got nopthing to worry about and you may be waiting as long at 70 days (which, BTW, is very rare). All of my hathclings pip out between day 54-57.
Good luck.
