Well on Saturday morning I woke up to a sight I wish to never see again, my Leo "Blue eyes", had what looked to be his guts hanging from is anus. Friday night he was fine but saturday morning I quess I was a couple hours too late,they looked to be already semi dried out. I put him in a seperate tank with warm water and moss to keep it from drying out, but it was already too late. So after some reading I haven't read anyting about the intestines comming out just the hemipenis. Anyone else go threw this and any info on how to prevent it? by the way this is my first post long time reader first poster.

Don't use moss to keep it moist, as wet moss can be a breeding ground for parasites. You exspecially wouldn't want to use it in a prolapse situation, just moist paper towels and get it to the vet. asap.

Another way to keep it moist, the vet. told me is to take a qu-tip and put some vasoline on it and rub it on the prolapse, until you can get to the vet.. It is non toxic.

If the prolapsed organ, won't stay in, then the vet. will have to put a stitch in there to keep it in.
