Cricket Q

lister8 Aug 27, 2007 06:45 AM

i have read lots of stuff about how many cickets to feed hatchling, juvenile and adult leos, but im not entirely sure what to class my leos as. they are both about 3-4 months old, i feed them every other day on mealworms and medium silent brown crickets, but im a little confused exactly how many i should be feeding. i have only had them for a week and one is eating lots and the other not so much. how many crickets should i put in?????
---------------------------------------------

another thing is dusting the food; at the moment i dust with calcium all feedings except one where i use nutrobal which is the vitamin one. is this right or should i do it diferently. i have read lots about it but more info would be useful.

thanks

The amount they eat will vary per individual, and as they age. I start out with a half dozen or so with my adult. If she eats all of those I'll add a couple more. If not I feed less the next time. Simple trial and error.

I usually start with 5 cricket's in each tank i own and if they eat them all up i add 5 more ,
( i have 3 baby geckos in 1 tank so i just basicly give them 1/4 cricket's 4-5 inches .. and they eat like little piggys
so like the last person said it depends on the gecko

and i calcuim the crickets with pure calcuim as have a small milk lid of pure in there tank's as well ( so they can eat the calcuim as they please )
