Info on Feeder Insect Nutritive Value

lele Aug 20, 2003 06:23 PM

Hi all,

Seems that many have been posting questions about the nutrition of feeder insects. I have posted this article (includes chart, but you should read the whole thing) individually but thought I would do a general post for anyone interested. Check it out - and long live your herps

lele i have that article printed out and put in my "chameleon" file in my desk. the first time i saw that was from a link given to me by john(charm paradise). thanks for posting that again...excellent timing once again!

you know, i wonder what the nutritional value of house flies are. i'm sure they are more of a "candy" but i wonder if there is a break down like was done with the worms?

Good link!
I wish that people would read links like this more... instead of just asking questions. Sure, you can get a lot of good info from the people on here, but there is some info that can be extreemly helpful in online articles, especially when they are based on scientific data, not just one's experience.
Everyone, go bookmak that page, you never know when you will need it!

I Loved that article. It was very informative. Great job BTW.

How do Roaches fit in on that chart? Would different roaches have different nutritive qualities? Males it seem should differ slightly from Females? Could different species vary in makeup or are they all the same?
