corkscrew locomotion

neal Aug 20, 2003 06:35 PM

Hi all,
I haven't worked with Western hognoses snakes much at all. How "normal" is it for them to twist in a corkscrew-shaped fashion when agitated? The motion starts as a head tilt them the motion continues as the snake moves forward. Thanks, Neal.

It is probably a half hearted attempt at the death feigning. The mouth should open and the tongue should droop out. They normally outgrow it with time. Andy
